Marcus Tran is an emerging editor and director working on Gadigal land.
Since graduating from AFTRS in 2024, Marcus has gained editorial and visual effects experience for studio feature films, worked as an assembly editor for scripted television, and cultivated an online audience of over seventy thousand followers.
Recently, he was an assistant to Oscar-winning editor Bob Murawski on Sam Raimi's upcoming 20th Century feature shot in Sydney and Thailand; he also assembly edited The Role of a Lifetime (ABC), written by Penny Flanagan, and When The War Is Over (ABC) by Rachel Griffiths.
As an emerging writer and director, Marcus is currently developing short dramas and black comedies. Marcus' AFTRS graduation short film One Note Away is entering festival distribution and his queer romance short Bridges is in further development as a feature film. Previously, he has written and shot short documentaries for SBS OnDemand, and directed independent commercials. His online essays have each garnered millions of views.
